Burj Khalifa

The world's tallest building offers dizzying views — but is the ticket worth it? Our honest verdict.

What it is

The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world at over 828 metres. Visitors ride to observation decks on the 124th/125th floors — or higher, for a premium — for sweeping views over Dubai.

The experience

The high-speed lift and the view are genuinely impressive, especially at sunset when the desert and skyline glow. The fountain show at the base afterwards is a free highlight. It can feel processed and busy, and the very top "At the Top SKY" level costs significantly more.

What we loved

What to watch out for

Is it worth it? Our verdict

Yes, once — it's an iconic experience and the views are hard to beat. Book a sunset slot in advance for the best value, and the standard deck is plenty high for most people. We give it 4 out of 5, with price and crowds the main marks against.
